The Education Committee meets at 7:00 PM every 4th Thursday of the month at the Democratic Party of Otero County Headquarters or through Zoom.

Our mission is to educate our community on all individuals in order to promote a more inclusive, and respectful environment for those around us. This Committee focuses on educating our peers specifically on marginalized communities.

    With a strong understanding of the issues surrounding marginalized communities and belong to marginalized communities herself, Jonece brings a personal and educated point of view to this committee.

  • Jeff Swanson

    Vice-Chair

    Jeff Swanson has a passion for learning along with teaching. He is a Social Sciences Major, and currently teaches a class regarding the dangers of White Christian Nationalism. Jeff is eager to work on the Education Committee to help marginalized communities be heard and understood.

    Brianna has a passion for ensuring equality prevails, being a minority herself she understands the importance and the work that goes into advocating strongly for herself and others.
